Who am I?
I am a UK based Independent Health & Nutrition Researcher, that initially qualified as a Personal Trainer, Neuromuscular Massage Therapist, C.H.E.K Practitioner, and Health Practitioner. Lately the focus of my work and research has shifted further towards Nutrition research, The Psychology of Dieting and Metabolism amongst other related topics. I have recently completed an MSc in Psychology with my final piece of research focusing on Compensatory Health Beliefs. I am now looking to complete some independent research for a PhD focussing on Disordered Eating, Compensatory Behaviours, Learned Helplessness and Metabolic Adaption. I am available in the UK on a 1:1 basis, and globally via email, Skype/FaceTime.

I have consulted with many clients who are eating salad, avoiding red meat, making sure they have 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day, and drinking daily kale smoothies. They've eaten margarine and vegetable oils instead of butter. They've joined a gym, hired a personal trainer, done lots of cardiovascular exercise, ran marathons, lifted weights, and been to Zumba. They've eaten the bare minimum, gone low fat, low calorie, low carb, or just low everything using willpower alone to help them avoid food. They have been metabolically typed, detoxed, juiced, eaten like a caveman, posted Instagram pictures of their Paleo meals, followed Dr Atkin's, listened to the former Dr Gillian McKeith, watched their weight yo yo at weight watchers, been sucked into a pyramid diet scheme and never got anything other than miserable results that don't match the effort they put in.
What did they get for their trouble? Fatter, colder, unhealthy, hungry, and usually irritable, angry and a tad depressed. Erectile dysfunction, cold hands and feet, infertile, anti-social, a swollen tongue are just some of the many complaints I've seen because of one thing...our obsession with dieting and over exercising.
