The perfect body is something I get asked about all the time (not because I have one, but because I'm in the health & fitness industry, well sort of). People chronically compare themselves to the rich and famous, influenced by the Hollywood standard we seem to aspire to the standard they seemingly set. You may decided to get the latest Posh Spice hairstyle, or you may get a Simon Cowell boob job and matching chest rug. From a butt like J’Lo’s to legs like Elle McPherson, it appears that theirs no end to the hoards that will literally starve themselves due to what they perceive of as an unacceptable physical appearance on their part.
I've spoken frequently about the fact that looking good is a celebrities job, (unless your Kerry Katona, or Katie Price, in which case your job is to look as horrendous as possible). They haves teams of trainers, dietitians and all the time in the world to try and do it naturally. They also have plastic surgeons in standby, and row upon row of hypodermic needles dripping with botox, ready for the first sign of a wrinkle or emotion line.
However, theirs the other bit thats often missed by the public eye...photoshop. Demi, (seen above) has no doubt kept a whole host of plastic surgeons busy attempting to stop her slowly morphing into Bruce Willis. She must be commended for contributing to trying to help the country avoid a recession, sadly its been a fruitless attempt though and she's no doubt pouring her cash into shares in Adobe CS5...
Don't get me wrong, Demi looks great for 48 years old, especially when you consider she has to keep up with Ashton Kutcher. If we are to have any hope of achieving more realistic and broader views of our beauty, learning to love ourselves as we are so that we may take informed choices to alter our health for our own good, and not because of the negative social effects the media shows us, we must first realise the idols that shine before us are nothing but smokescreen covering an aging celeb that is desperately clinging on to the social expectations.
Live a long and healthy life, come and see me about restoring your youthful looks, but do it because its what you want, not because you saw Cheryl Cole airbrushed to the max.
Cos your worth it...
