The attempt to drag Physiotherapy into the academic arena is no doubt and attempt to bolster credibility, sadly in doing so the patients are treated by numbers rather than thorough investigation. As always the views expressed on this website are my own, however having seen it from the inside, and having also spoken with a great many unsatisfied customers its safe to say I'm not the only one who feels let down by physiotherapy.
[Edit: 20/02/2010 - Even my views got me in trouble with the head honchos who wanted this removed. Please note that no particular academic establishment is mentioned and I do think physiotherapists can play a valuable part in rehab. I just don't like the new academic status that places academic ability at a greater importance than knowledge. Nor do I like physiotherapy being placed on a pedestal implying that it is more useful than corrective exercise, posture assessment, chiropractic's and osteopathy.
