The polo was fantastic to see, much quicker than expected due to to different rules. They've tried to make it more fast paced and more appealing to the general public. I think the could go someway to doing this by just renaming the 4 quarters of the game to "quarters", rather than chukkas as it all sounds a bit posh for anyone not called Tarquin, Caggy or Hugo. Other than people smoking in the grandstand it was a fantastic day out but I must make more of an effort to dress up next year.
Sunday was at Megan's christening and I was shattered from the previous day coupled with a sleepless night. I always struggle to sleep in anything other than our own bed but normally cope a little better due to probably not being so tired in the first place. My Whole Foods bacon for breakfast gave me a little kickstart and I made it through the day. By the time we made it home I barely had the ability to hold myself up and fell over when I got out of the car.
So, today has been all about recovering from the weekend and getting back on track with my actual recovery. Tomorrow should be the day that I get to slip my trotter into a lovely removable plastic boot which means I can finally treat myself.
